Advertising Photography for Consumer Tech & Sports Equipment
I'm Steve Wyper, a product and campaign photographer based in Australia. I shoot the things people care about, gaming peripherals, tech hardware, sports equipment, and performance gear. The products built for people who take whatever they do seriously. My work is built around light and cinematic atmosphere, because the brands that resonate aren't the ones with the cleanest packshots, they're the ones that make you feel something.
Product & Hero Photography
Precision-lit product photography that showcases your hardware at its best. Detail shots, hero angles, and texture-led imagery designed for advertising and digital campaigns.
Lifestyle & Human Integration
Campaign photography that puts real people in the frame, hands on hardware, bodies in environment, models in context. The work that closes the gap between product and customer.
Full Campaign Production
End-to-end campaign photography for brands who need a cohesive visual suite, single hero images, lifestyle sets, detail shots, and campaign variants, all to craft the narrative.
Standard packshot photography documents a product. My work contextualises it, using crafted light, human interaction, and cinematic atmosphere to communicate how a product feels to use, not just what it looks like. The result is campaign-ready imagery that creates emotional connection between the brand and its audience.
I specialise in gaming peripherals, hardware, and consumer technology, including controllers, headsets, sim racing equipment, mechanical keyboards, and audio devices. I work with brands ranging from mid-size tech companies to global hardware manufacturers, and I'm experienced in producing both direct-to-brand and agency-commissioned campaign work.
I'm based in Australia and work with both local and international clients. For APAC-based tech brands and agencies, I offer on-location and studio shoots in Queensland. For international campaigns, I'm available for travel and also consult on remote art direction for self-directed shoots.
AI-generated imagery is improving at clean product renders, but it fundamentally struggles with the intersection of real light, real surfaces, and real human interaction and actual ideation. My work is built on physical craft first, the way a rim light catches the edge of a mechanical switch, the texture of a braided cable under a hard key light. The human-integrated work goes further still, capturing something generative tools can't produce: the authenticity of a real person, in a real environment, with a product they actually use.
The best starting point is the contact form, tell me about your brand, your product, and what you're trying to communicate. I'll come back to you with initial thoughts and we can discuss scope, timeline, and budget from there. I take on a limited number of projects at a time to make sure every campaign gets the attention it deserves.
